Bronson is a romantic at heart. He is very "in touch" with his emotions and feelings. He has always been a Little Romeo! So, he has a crush on a little girl in his preschool class, well a big crush actually. He loves to sit by her on the carpet and be her partner for centers, and she loves to be his because he is so fun to play with! He is always drawing her pictures and letters and wants to shower her with gifts. When we went on the hunt for the perfect Valentine's he so lovingly picked out the best stuffed animal (his favorite thing in the world) for her and it broke my heart to tell him that we couldn't buy her the "one that is bigger than me". It also broke my heart to tell him we couldn't buy the one that sings, etc. I felt so bad because we wanted so badly to give her something he loves, to show his affection. I tried to gently explain that his other friends would feel bad if they didn't get one too, etc. I also wanted to encourage a friendship, while not encouraging the romantic feelings part. He is so sweet and caring and wants to show his love, I am already feeling quite scared and worried about him getting his tender heart broken! He is only 5! We settled on a tiny Dalmation puppy (fits in your hand) so he would be happy with unhurt feelings and hopefully the other kids won't notice.
So a week later I see him with a big ball of tape in his hand. He was taping a Hershy kiss to a leaf he picked, because it "looks like a St. Patrick's Day leaf" (clover, it was actually a weed). So I had him pick a flower out of the yard, since the leaf was covered in dirt, and it was a....weed. He taped the chocolate to the flower and as pleased as can be to give little Rachel a flower and chocolate. And about all that kissing stuff.... "Did you know that Sadie has already kissed a boy! She kissed James in my class! GROSS! YUCK!" Whewww!! Thank goodness!!! OH, and he did tell me I was still his Valentine! You, are my I Love You, Bear!
Okay-I am soooo HORRIBLE at keeping in touch with people even though in most instances they live only a short drive away! Here is our way of keeping you up to date with our family. You know-just the everyday stuff....
SAY WHAT?
The world according to "HANK"-as a 3 yr old...our GOOF........BALL
Bronson commented on how big Billy’s breakfast was. Saying he doesn’t need to eat that much. I explained he had a much bigger tummy. He has to eat more to fill it up. Bronson replies.... “And it is also VERY hairy!”
I hurry Bronson to get in his car seat because of a creepy looking man staring at me in the parking lot. When I give the reason why I want him to hurry he says, “Mama, he is staring at you because you are so pretty.” Awwwww!
“Have you ever been to Sleep America? I haven’t been there yet but I would like to go because they have hundreds of mattresses to choose from.”
“We don't say that word. It’s an ugly, yucky word” I said to Bronson after hearing him mutter ‘D*mn it’.
Bronson-"I need to say a prayer and tell Heavenly Father I’m
sorry."
Me-"That’s called repenting."
Bronson-"Daddy needs to do a lot of repenting cuz he always
says naughty words."
“I’m glad we don’t have tarantulas in our house cuz they would crawl up me and bite my tiny little eyebrows off!”
B- “You are pretty Mama. Except for those things all over
your face...moles, freckles? What are those things called?”
Me- “Zits?”
B- “Oh yeah. When you have zits all over your face it looks
pretty ugly.”
Bronson hears a girl say “Free Money”. He exclaims “Free money?! Doesn’t she know money is not free?” Why? I say. “Because free is not a number!”
“I wuv you more than a donut’s teeth”

What a sweetheart! That is darling, and I am already anxious about the broken-hearted thing too. We moms are so silly.
